Studies have found engaging in a regular meditation or mindfulness practice helps to lower stress levels, decrease inflammation, control anxiety, promote emotional health, enhance self-awareness, improve sleep, and can decrease blood pressure – and that’s not even half of the benefits!

A regular meditation practice can have a massive beneficial impact on your life – all you have to do is start! In The Art Of Stillness, we look at how meditation can improve physical, mental, and emotional states and provide you with a deeper connection to your Self.

In this course you will:

– distinguish “meditation” vs “mindfulness”
– experience various meditation techniques
– follow a 40 day shamatha* meditation practice
– be part of a heart-centered community

Each session will include group discussion and a meditation and movement practice to familiarize ourselves with different forms of meditation.

In our first gathering we will discuss meditation, mindfulness, and our personal intentions behind our meditation practice

Week 2 :: The Art Of Visual Meditations
November 8 :: 7:00pm

This week we will explore and experience various meditations involving our sense of sight

Week 3 :: Virtual Experience
November 15 :: 8:15pm

This week we will meet online to check in to our 40 day practice and experience a group meditation in the privacy of our personal meditation space

Week 4 :: The Art Of Auditory Meditations
November 22 :: 7:00pm

This week we will explore and experience various meditations involving our sense of hearing and creating sound

Week 5 :: The Art of Somatic Meditations
November 29 :: 7:00pm

This week we will explore and experience various meditations that involve use of our whole body in some way

Week 6 :: Virtual Experience
December 6 :: 8:15pm

Once again, we meet online to check in with our group as we near the end of our 40 day practice and experience a group meditation in the privacy of our personal meditation space
